Six years ago, a 10 year old boy walked into my 5th grade classroom, and forever changed my outlook on life. You could see the inspirational young man he would become, even then.
In middle school, at the ripe old age of 13, he and two friends created a 501c3 nonprofit called Helping the Homeless Colorado.
Today, not only is he a high school junior, but also the Vice President for this nonprofit that he has been heading up for the past three years. Over this time period, Helping the Homeless Colorado has transitioned from handing out necessary toiletries on the street to building a scholarship program for those on the verge of becoming homeless.
They are working to stop it before it starts.
What follows is an interview of how these amazing young people accomplished so much just because they saw a problem and wanted to be a part of the solution.
