travel quotes from Mark Twain and Anthony Bourdain
pros and cons of coming home
This travel quote from Mark Twain hangs on our wall in RAIF right above another quote from Anthony Bourdain.

Whether you travel in an RV or car or plane, eventually most people will end up back where they’re from…at least for a moment. And there are many pros and cons of coming home.

In our case, home is RAIF, our home on wheels, so when we come back home to Denver, in a sense, we’re already home.

When we embarked upon this new chapter of renting our family home out to our adult kids and their roommates, and we moved into RAIF to travel the country, we had plans to come home for the holidays.

Deciding to stick around for a couple of months has brought about some mixed feelings; we’ve quickly learned to love the travel lifestyle, but still love Colorado.

If you love the thrill of the unknowns of traveling, I know you will relate to my list of the pros and cons of coming home.

If you haven’t traveled much, get out there. This wonderful world of traveling opens up opportunities, breaks down barriers, and gets you comfortable and excited about being uncomfortable.

Travel turns the pros into cons and the cons into pros. It turns your entire world upside down, and makes you think you might never want it right side up again.

Pros of Coming Home

Make today ridiculously awesome

  • You no longer have to look up directions every where you go.
  • You know exactly where the grocery store is, its hours, and what is on what shelf and where.

Travel Changes You!

You are beautiful You are love
pros and cons of coming home

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.  Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.

Mark Twain

Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable.  Sometimes it hurts. It even breaks your heart. But that’s ok. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.
