River North Brewery May Just Have the Strongest Beer in Colorado

| | ,

While nobody can 100% guarantee that River North has brewed the strongest beer in Colorado, it’s quite certain that it is one of them. Clocking in at just above 22%, it’s a mighty big beer, with mighty big flavor. And for those of you that may not know River North, this big beer isn’t their first rodeo. They’ve been brewing big beers since they opened their doors in 2012. You may have heard of them from a couple of their well known barrel aged stouts: Nightmare Fuel and Mr. Sandman. But whatever beer they brew, from IPAs to Saisons to big beers, they do it well.

The Strongest Beer in Colorado?

And we got the chance to sit down with owner and founder, Matt Hess; head brewer, Matt Malloy; and marketing guru, Katie Schroepfer to talk beer…Big Beer! You’ll also find out more about how River North Brewery came to fruition from the love of engineering and homebrewing and how much all of these great people absolutely love the community that is craft beer. Speaking of community, there’s a great one where there located. Check out our RiNo tour to experience more great Denver breweries.

We hope you have as much fun listening to this podcast about big beer, party beer, and the community that surrounds this brilliant industry, as we did recording it. And if you ever come across a Triple-barrel Anniversary 10 Imperial Stout, you better grab it while you can. This baby isn’t gonna be around forever.

“We need more excuses to get together with all of our brewery friends. That’s why we got into the brewing industry. Because we love beer, and we love the people.”

(Matt Hess, River North Brewery)

Shout Outs:

To Matt, Matt, and Katie – the three of you made our day from the moment we walked into River North. Long time fans and visitors, it was great to finally meet the creators behind the magic that is the place, the beer, and the people. We had a blast talking beer, drinking beer, and just feeling like a part of the community. It’s what we all agreed upon on the podcast – beer is about the community! Cheers to another 10 years and more at River North!
