Since we call ourselves Living A Stout Life, we thought it would be appropriate to have a column called…wait for it!
Beer of the Week!
Original? No! Genius? Yes!
What are our qualifications for this beer of the week? Ken and I sat down for hours to brainstorm (nope, we didn’t), and we came up with the following qualifications: taste and ambiance.
When it comes to beer, it should most definitely be about the flavor, but after that it is more about the ambiance which includes the community, the scenery, the people, the conversations, and the feelings.
Beer brings people together, so when we choose our beer of the week, we are choosing based on the Stout Life, the full life, the life with intention and passion.
Your beer should be as great as your life! Or is it the other way around? Your life should be as great as your beer!
Drum roll, please…
The first ever Stout Life Recommended Beer of the Week is…
Living the Dream Brewery’s Cherry Pie!
This Belgian fruit beer from Living the Dream Brewery has just enough cherries to make it sweet, but not enough to make it sour. With hints of vanilla and cinnamon and at 7.8% ABV, it was the perfect way to welcome us back to Denver for a few days before we head off to Brew Dog’s Annual Equity for Punk’s Party (AGM) in Columbus, Ohio. Not only did this beer taste great while sitting on the patio on a hot summer day at the brewery itself, but it was almost better drinking it with friends later that evening from the growler we bought to go. Beer has to be about more than beer; it has to be about the people that you drink it with, and that night, Ken and I got to surprise our friends that we hadn’t seen in a month, with our smiling faces and a fresh growler full of some Cherry Pie. What a beautiful way to spend a waning summer evening.
