RVing, camping, traveling – all come with a bit of stress. But that’s where StressLess Camping comes into play, along with that long awaited can of craft beer that is cracked open once you’re settled in.

Meet Peggy and Tony from StressLess Camping
Craft beer, travel, and adventure. Sounds like us here at Living a Stout Life. But this isn’t our story. This is Peggy and Tony Barthel’s story. One all about craft beer, of course, but also StressLess Camping.
Peggy and Tony started StressLess Camping after they hit the road, leaving – as they call it – “the state that shall not be named” behind. Realizing they had both the expertise and passion to help fellow RVers hit the road, StressLess Camping was born. Their website and podcast are stock full of traveling resources such as gear guides, RV reviews, gadget reviews, tips and tricks, travel guides, and more.

Stress Less With Camping and Craft Beer Resources
They built a typical life, loved it, and then needed a change. So they escaped from the state that shall remain nameless just when the year that shall also remain nameless hit, but now here they are. And with Tony’s love of RVs since he was a young kid and Peggy’s love of camping for as long as she can remember, they’ve got the skills. Plus, they like good beer!
“The world has enabled me to chase great beers!”
(Tony Barthel, co-founder of StressLess Camping)
Join us as we chat RV mishaps, RV beer cellars, RV resources, craft beer resources, solo camping, RV lifestyles, and more. And of course we talk about the beer all along the journey. Whether you’re an RVer, a wannabe RVer, or just a craft beer lover who loves to hear all about where to find the beer and how fellow beer-lovers get there, this is the episode for you.
Oh, the Breweries We “Visited”
Peggy and Tony make it a point to find breweries whenever they travel. We “traveled” with them.
- Elkins Brewing Co (Lavaland RV Park) – Grants, NM
- Junkyard on 66 Brewery (Harvest Hosts) – Grants, NM
- Anderson Valley Brewing Co – Boonville, CA
- Boonville Beer Festival – Boonville, CA
- Millstream Brewing Co – Amana, IA (In the episode this brewery was accidentally referred to as Mill Creek Brewing, but that is located in Tennessee, and they were talking about Iowa.)
- Kaktus Brewing Co – Bernalillo, NM
- Bosque Brewing Co – several locations in NM
- Marble Brewery – ABQ, NM
- Santa Fe Brewing Co – Santa Fe, NM and other locations
- Ex Novo Brewing Co – Corrales, NM and other locations
- Tin Can Alley – (food hall and taproom) ABQ, NM
- Patagonia Lumber Company Beer & Wine Bar – Patagonia, AZ
RV, Beer, Travel, Adventure Resources
In today’s technologically advanced world, there are a plethora of resources out there to help you find everything. These are a few we love. But, don’t forget the good old fashioned way of also talking to people wherever you are. Often times, that is how you find the best of everything.

Finding Fellowship, Fun, and Folly
We met Tony and Peggy because of Camp Carpe Diem. They interviewed us on their podcast where we talked about the importance of creating community while traveling. If you want to find your tribe while on the road, be sure to listen now.
We talk about beer and building community, but we also talk about the importance of having fun and relaxing. If you need some of that, listen now, and sign up for CCD 2024 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, this spring.

Breweries
For about the price of a beer, your virtual (or actual) beer purchase will help keep us on the road bringing you the stories behind the beer. Let us know you did just that, and we’ll put together a virtual happy hour with you, if we’re not already in person together.
Nick and Mike did! In person. What a great night! New friends. Live music. Awesome conversations. Cheers, Nick and Mike! Wherever your travels take you, bring beer and our gratitude!
“We appreciate you highlighting our brewery on your podcast, your enthusiasm for craft breweries, travel and adventure and the patronage of not only you, but the friends you bring into Tres Litros.”
Jason at Tres Litros Beer Co
“Ken and April do a fantastic job of mixing the culture of beer and adventure into something akin to a fine barrel-aged sour. They are wise beyond their years. Loving this podcast and it will be on our weekly playlist for SURE!”
