Blending Culture with Jade Mountain Brewing Co

| | ,

If there’s ever been a place where you can talk across the aisles, beer in hand, Jade Mountain Brewery & Teahouse is one of those places. With a knack for creating flavors you would never dream of in beer, but doing it brilliantly, where you want more of it, Sean Guerrero blends both beer and culture together by being inclusive of all flavors and all peoples.

Welcome to the third episode in our series of podcasts where we have partnered up with Malteurop Malting Company (MMC) to highlight some phenomenal craft breweries for American Craft Beer Week, May 16-22.

Meet Sean Guerrero from Jade Mountain Brewing

Starting Jade Mountain Brewing originally in China when he moved there to teach English, Sean knew that he would eventually bring what he learned about the flavors of China and the rest of Asia, back to his home state of Colorado. And we’re grateful he did.

Brewing with ingredients and flavors reminiscent of his love of China, his beers are unique, innovative, and straight up, damn good. But more importantly, like his slogan, “Blending Culture”, Sean has created a space that will both welcome you home and send you traveling across the seas.

“There’s very little diversity in beer and sometimes it’s hard to find something that makes sense to you. But trying to figure out flavors can bring people from other cultures into the realm of craft beer.”

Join us as we chat about drinking habits in China (they are very different than in the U.S.), brewing with ramen and other interesting ingredients, and the love of travel and culture. Sean brings the world to us through his beer. We can only hope that we bring a bit of the world to you through our conversation with Sean.

“Ken and April do a fantastic job of mixing the culture of beer and adventure into something akin to a fine barrel-aged sour. They are wise beyond their years. Loving this podcast and it will be on our weekly playlist for SURE!”

Shout Outs:

To Sean: Thank you for putting up with all of our questions about owning a brewery in China and for humoring us when we made you speak Mandarin describing an IPA. Your beers are weird and unique, and quite fantastic and immensely drinkable. You have a talent that is not surpassed by many, and we appreciate you sharing it and your time with us.

To Dustin Craft and Gretchen Jones from Malteurop Malting Company for putting this together. It may have been meant to highlight Jade Mountain Brewing Company for American Craft Beer Week, and that it did, but it also shined the spotlight on you two and the community within MMC.
