Bridging Community & Craft Beer in Bozeman, Montana

The name comes from the local Bridger Mountain Range which sits just a few miles north of Bozeman. The community comes from the people that work and live here. The beer comes from Daniel Pollard and his team at Bridger Brewing.

Welcome to the sixth and final episode in our series of podcasts where we have partnered up with Malteurop Malting Company (MMC) to highlight some amazing craft breweries for American Craft Beer Week, May 10-16.

Meet Daniel Pollard from Bridger Brewing

The first employee at Bridger Brewing, Daniel is more than that and more than a brewer. He builds bridges with the beer he brews. Bridges to the community both within Bridger Brewing and Bozeman, Montana. With a passion for supporting local organizations and collaborating with other brewers, Daniel works hard at bringing people together over a beer.

Daniel is also highly passionate about diversity in the craft beer industry. And not just the work industry but the customer base, as well. He wants to encourage people who weren’t traditionally involved in craft brewing to come in, bringing new perspectives, backgrounds, life stories, and skills.

So, yes, we talk beer, but we also talk community, diversity, music, and all the things that inspire us to wake up in the morning, grateful for the day ahead. And speaking of beer, you’ve got to hear what he loves to drink. Sometimes, it’s not always about the craft beer, but more about the beer that’s crushable. The beer that is a part of every adventure story. We’ve always said it’s about the story more than the beer, and Daniel tells the stories well.

“When you’re not in as big a rush all the time you have a bit more time to sit down with coworkers and just chat and check in and have better conversations.  I would like to see those conversions continue.”

“Ken and April do a fantastic job of mixing the culture of beer and adventure into something akin to a fine barrel-aged sour. They are wise beyond their years. Loving this podcast and it will be on our weekly playlist for SURE!”

Shout Outs:

To Daniel Pollard for hanging out with us both online and in person. You mentioned being grateful for what you have, and we were most definitely grateful for the brewery tour and the tastings. The time you spent with us was invaluable, and we can easily see the community you love so much here, both in the brewery, itself, and in Bozeman. Thank you!

To Dustin Craft and Gretchen Jones from Malteurop Malting Company for putting this together. It may have been meant to highlight Bridger Brewing for American Craft Beer Week, and that it did, but it also shined the spotlight on you two and the community within MMC.
