Unique and Meaningful Craft Beer Rooted in Greeley, Colorado

| | ,

We continue our Malteurop podcast series celebrating breweries for American Craft Beer Week. This week, the series takes us to Colorado where we met with Kyle Carbaugh, CEO and Founder of Wiley Roots Brewing Company. Finding a hobby at the encouragement of his wife led to his career as a brewer.  Looking to make beer fun again, Kyle and his team at Wiley Roots create beers that are unique and meaningful, all rooted in Greeley, Colorado.

Welcome to the fourth in our series of podcasts where we have partnered up with Malteurop Malting Company (MMC) to highlight some amazing craft breweries for the upcoming American Craft Beer Week, May 10-16.

Meet Kyle Carbaugh from Wiley Roots Brewing Company

Nicknamed Wiley by his aunt when he was a precocious, hot-tempered kid, the name stuck. Years later, transitioning from an accounting career into brewing, Kyle and his wife headed from Denver back to their roots in Greeley, Colorado. Using Kyle’s dad’s horse barn to create recipes and brew the initial batches may have been where it all started. But, where it will end, nobody knows.

Each brew has a story all its own, and each day brings about new adventures, from beer slushies to stone ground mustard.  You’ll have to listen to make sense out of that statement.  We hope you have as much fun listening as we did talking.

“Lets have fun. Let’s make ourselves laugh. At the end of the day that’s what everyone is looking for when they drink beer.”

“Ken and April do a fantastic job of mixing the culture of beer and adventure into something akin to a fine barrel-aged sour. They are wise beyond their years. Loving this podcast and it will be on our weekly playlist for SURE!”

Shout Outs:

To Kyle Carbaugh for taking a break from the canning line to chat with us about beer, community, and the importance of checking in on people. You said it. It has been a crazy year, but together we strive to be better. And with people like you, Miranda, and the rest of the team at Wiley Roots in the beer industry, becoming better seems like an attainable goal.

To Dustin Craft and Gretchen Jones from Malteurop Malting Company for putting this together. It may have been meant to highlight Wiley Roots for American Craft Beer Week, and that it did, but it also shined the spotlight on you two and the community within MMC.
