Welcome to the fifth episode in our series of podcasts where we have partnered up with Malteurop Malting Company (MMC) to highlight some phenomenal craft breweries for American Craft Beer Week, May 16-22.

Meet Beau Baden from Sherman Street Beer Co

First falling for the craft beer scene, in the early 90’s as an avid homebrewer, Beau took his skills to the next level, working his way across the country for many breweries, landing back home in Pennsylvania to finally fulfill a 30 year dream of opening his own brewery.

Join us as Beau takes us along on this journey from homebrewer to brewmaster and owner of his own brewery. It’s been a journey of beer, but more importantly, it’s been a journey of building relationships, and I imagine a lot of laughing at yourself along the way.

“I live, breathe this all day for better or worse. I still get up every morning, put on my boots, and am here making beer. It’s not so bad.”

“Ken and April do a fantastic job of mixing the culture of beer and adventure into something akin to a fine barrel-aged sour. They are wise beyond their years. Loving this podcast and it will be on our weekly playlist for SURE!”

Shout Outs:

Beau, being in the craft beer industry as long as you have and still having a passion for it like you do is testament to how the craft beer community strives to work together to keep each other afloat during good and tough times. Thank you for taking time out of your day to chat with us about the meaning of street corners and your opinions on Hazy IPAs. We love a bit of sarcasm, and we can’t wait to experience all you have to offer in person. Cheers to the future, whatever Wild West thing it may be!

To Jeff Loranger and Gretchen Jones from Malteurop Malting Company for putting this together. It may have been meant to highlight Sherman Street Beer Company for American Craft Beer Week, and that it did, but it also shined the spotlight on you two and the community within MMC.
